| From dancing the night away and fortune telling to henna tattoos and hot air balloons, Vodstock, the 2006 Vodafone UK party held at Blenheim Palace this weekend turned out to be quite a night. Whilst Texas performed on the main stage, Tristan Craig, the winner of Vodafone's own employee 'Pop Idol' style competition, wowed the crowd with his performance in the Acoustic Tent.
Tristan who works in the Customer Insight Department and lives in Lower Way, Thatcham was the overall winner of Vodafone's search to find the most musically talented Vodafone employee nationwide. The prize being the chance to perform at Vodstock, voice coaching and the opportunity to lay down a track at Konk Studios in London. The mobile recording studio visited eight different Vodafone locations across the UK and over 247 separate acts took part.
Following his appearance at Vodstock, Tristan commented, "I really enjoyed the gig. The acoustic tent was packed with over 200 colleagues and although I'm already in a band, it was the biggest audience I've played to. Normally I'd be nervous playing to such a big crowd but I was just excited to be given the opportunity. I went for the voice coaching in London last Friday and was coached by the woman who coaches the Sugababes! It was really useful, I learned techniques for how to breath properly while singing as well as how to do proper vocal warm ups before a performance".
He continued "The last part of the prize is the recording in mid October. Recording in a studio is really expensive and something I can't afford so I'm going to make the most of it. And then, who knows!" |
