| Vodafone have just awarded a three year contract to Newbury Buses to introduce a new more environmentally friendly shuttle bus at its Newbury HQ. The new buses create a 28% reduction in the carbon monoxide emissions and reduce drive-by noise by up to 10%.
Vodafone introduced its Green Travel Plan at Newbury in the year 2000, and claims that since then, there has been a substantial reduction in the number of employees using their car for work.
Mike Newens, who is Vodafone’s Property Director said “The Green Travel Plan is designed to encourage employees to use public transport to get to work at our Newbury HQ. We are constantly looking for new ways to make the service more environmentally friendly. We are really excited to be amongst the first to host the new buses and hope they will be a big success.”
The new buses will be in use on the streets of Newbury from October. |
