| The West Berkshire Branch of the National Autistic Society has been announced as Newbury Carnival’s nominated charity for this year. This branch formed in April 2005 and is totally self-funding, completely voluntary and run by parents from their homes. The aim is to provide information and practical support to people with autism and their families living in Newbury and West Berkshire.
Mrs. Sarah Greenway, fundraising officer for the branch said, “We are absolutely delighted to be chosen by Newbury Carnival to be the nominated charity for 2006. We look forward to working with the carnival organisers and being part of the event”
Carnival Charity spokesperson, Philippa Harper added, “ We had a great response to our appeal for charities to come forward and are pleased to welcome the West Berkshire Branch of NAS on board as a very worthy cause.”
The Thames Valley Air Ambulance and 14-21: Time to Talk, were also shortlisted and will be taking part in the Carnival Parade. |
