New cafe for train station
29th December 2005 08.20am

Despite the uncertainty over the future look of Station Approach, one firm is taking advantage of the lack of places for rail commuters to get a bite to eat.

Newbury station’s intermittent success in catering for the growing bunch of hungry train users took a tumble last year when bacon buttie specialist Bitesize shut down.

However, plans are afoot to turn the offices next door into a restaurant. The Studio, in Station Approach, is currently offices used by the Five Rivers fostering agency, but a change of use to another food and drink outlet has just been passed by West Berkshire Council.
