Crystal ware stolen in Camp Hopson raid
03rd December 2005 08.27am

Agile thieves broke into Camp Hopsons store in Northbrook Street during the early hours of Thursday morning.

The thieves escaped with thousands of pounds worth of contractors tools and equipment. Also stolen was an unknown quantity of crystal ware from a Camp Hopson store room.

It is believed that the thieves gained access through a skylight in the part of the building which is currently undergoing renovation.

The daring raid did not affect the retail area of the store, which was trading normally on Thursday morning.

An unofficial source revealed to Newbury.net that the value of stolen property was in the region of £30,000.00. Police are investigating.
