Going for Gold at Newbury today
26th November 2005 0.13am

Thousands of racegoers are preparing to brave the elements to attend the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury today. Saturday is the highpoint of the three-day festival, which started yesterday.

Lambourn-trained Trabolgan is favourite to win the Gold Cup at 2.40pm, but altogether there are six races running between 1pm and 4pm.

Although some rain and sleet is forecast, the ground is currently good with good-to-soft in some places.
