| West Berkshire Council’s Chief Executive has paid tribute to staff at the £160m a year authority as he prepares to leave Newbury for a new £150,000 a year job at Warwickshire County Hall.
Jim Graham starts on Monday, but said he was leaving behind a “good organization with good people.”
His departure comes as Liberal Democrats implied his departure was hastened by the change of control to Conservative last May. But the deadline for Mr Graham’s new job was before the local elections, and Warwickshire County Council is also Tory-run.
In a note to staff seen by newbury.net, Mr Graham said: “Whilst I'm looking forward to the new job, and my family returning to home in Warwickshire, I will have regrets leaving a good organisation with good people. I've still got one or two pieces of work which I need to complete and you will see me appear."
"I wish West Berkshire well and am confident that we will prosper in the future, contrary to what I'm advised maybe claimed by the NWN tomorrow.” |
