| Sound support
The firm that provides sound systems for major rock acts like The Darkness, Primal Scream and Glastonbury Festival is moving to Newbury. Reading-based Skan PA Hire is moving into the old Meridian studios in Hambridge Lane, which have been empty since ITV reformed from the merger of Carlton and Granada two years ago.
Skan also provides corporate hire of sound systems, and counts soul stars Beverley Knight and Macy Gray among clients.
New chippy
The Nightingales estate is to get a new chippy. The newsagent on the estate has applied to convert the back of the shop into a fish and chip shop.
No recycling
Wimpy Homes is asking West Berkshire Council for permission to scrap plans for recycling facilities on its new estate in Enborne Road. Sunderland Gardens is now complete and almost fully occupied, and the recycling area was a condition of the original planning consent. |
