A consortium of local organizations has secured £100,000 of lottery cash to restore the former US military athletics track next to the Thornford Park mental hospital.
Team Kennet and Newbury Athletics Club will manage the six lane artificial track, and help oversee the building of a new access road off the A339. A pavilion is planned, and the scheme has backing from Vodafone and Greenham Common Trust, as well as local councils. | | | |
