Court appearances:

Kirk Norman, aged 37, of Northcroft Lane, Newbury, will appear before Bicester magistrates on February 18, charged with obtaining property by deception.

Peter Crame, aged 24, of St Georges Avenue, Newbury, will appear before West Berkshire magistrates on February 18 charged with grievous bodily harm.

Two Newbury people will appear before West Berkshire magistrates charged with drug offences. Christopher Searle, aged 29, of Fleetwood Close, Newbury, and Sharon Popplewell, aged 26, of the same address are both charged with possession of cannabis and cultivating cannabis. Both will appear on February 18.

Other news:

A silver Mercedes car was damaged after unknown offenders threw a missile of some kind from an overbridge on the A34 Newbury bypass. The rear quarterlight of the vehicle was damaged. The incident happened at around 2.25pm on Monday

Offender(s) jumped on the roof of a Ford Fiesta parked in Mill Lane, Newbury, overnight on Friday (4/2), denting the roof.

Police are investigating the theft of a parcel containing computer equipment which was delivered in Laud Close, Newbury, but then went missing, sometime between February 3 and February 5.
