Tea Dance revival
10th January 2005 07.36am

The Corn Exchange revives an old tradition this Saturday, January 15th with the return of the Newbury Tea Dance.

After an absence of over 10 years, the Tea Dance is the perfect time to whip out your dancing shoes and dance the afternoon away with old friends and new to the sounds of The Compton Clefs Live Swing Band.

The Compton Clefs has been performing locally for nearly 17 years. Alison, Jane (twins) and Louise, all sisters, started playing instruments at home, then music together at school and during college decided to start their own band incorporating other musical friends from the local area. The band will perform all the classic swing and dance songs throughout the afternoon.

For those of you learning Ballroom dancing, or who just love to dance, the Tea Dance gives you the chance to test out your steps. Or you can always just sit back and enjoy the music and atmosphere, with a refreshing cup of tea and delicious slice of cake that is included in the price of the ticket.

Tickets: The Corn Exchange, Newbury 01635 522733
