| A mother and schoolgirl from Newbury were among the seven deaths at the Ufton Nervet train crash.
Anjanette Rossi, 38, and her nine-year-old daughter Louella Main, have now been formally identified.
Ms Rossi worked at West Berkshire Council in Market Street, Newbury, as chief executive Jim Graham’s secretary. She lived at Caunter Road, Speen, with partner David Main, and was a governor at Speenhamland School.
The Rossi/Main family issued a statement earlier today, saying: “We as a family would like to send our heart felt sympathy to all of the other families who are sharing in this tragedy. Our thoughts are with you all.
“We would like as a family to thank all of the emergency services; police, ambulance and hospital staff who have supported us.”
Meanwhile, dozens of officers are still on site trying to piece together exactly what happened at 6.12pm on Saturday, and have banned media helicopters from circling overhead. A cordon is in place, with scores of reporters still on the scene. |
