| Since publishing our story earlier in the week, we have received the following communication from Nick Carter, Corporate Director at West Berkshire Council.
"There is as yet no plan for the Market Place. We will certainly not be starting work in January. Some money is available but until plans are completed and costed we will not know whether it will be sufficient."
"We anticipate carrying out public consultation on plans for the Wharf and Market Place early next year subject to agreement by the Council."
"I would be grateful if you could alter your text to reflect the true position." |
