Does anyone know if that (Bast)  person Basil Cooper, Headmaster of St Barts is still around?
He made me bleed (from six of the best) many a time..I also had to handweed
his garden which was full of thistles one Bank Holiday ...What an absolute ----!
I don't think anyone nowadays would believe the goings on at that school..I could
enlighten you to a few ...but probably best forgotten.
Anyone else any experiences of the 'Grammar School'???
Does anyone have one of those landscape photos of the whole school from around 1960-66

Ballantyne was just as bad, caning was standard practice. My yard long picture is from 1952.

I have to agree with Dodgy on the Methusala comment! That is impressive.
Dodgy, you might have known David Bance. a friend of my younger brother.
They lived in Woolton Hill.
The father was a pilot in WW2 and celebrated a safe return and prosperous voyage
with a treetop flypast and a victory roll over his home.

A past headmaster of a Public School was a retired neighbour during the 60s.
It was not until reading his obituary that my jaw dropped. A bit of a monster.
