Please, please, please more photos of Newbury in the 50's/60's & 70's.. I just love them. I am the sort of person now living on memories, and unfortunately, mine isn't so good.. It takes a photo to trigger it off.. I absolutely love them. I spose reminising must be my hobby.. I sound a sad old git, don't i, BUT THATS ME i'M AFRAID..mOST OF MY OLD PICS HAVE BEEN LOST IN MOVES, BUT i AM GOING TO DIG DEEP TO SEE WHAT i CAN FIND.. WATCH THIS SPACE..... |

Not exactly a picture of the school but here is a class photograph taken in 1948. This is the year that the Headmaster, a Mr Pike, ran a competition in the school to chose the school colours and to design a badge for the school, Green and gold were the final choice of colour and the badge, a sailing ship with dots on the sails. They are still in use today I believe. I don't believe that any individual won any prizes as it was all done in groups in classwork.

I can be but not in this case. It's just a 'good eye' for faces and I know what you look like now from Facebook So you couldn't have changed much eh? |

No, same fresh faced youth, less vision, plenty of hair but wrong colour and just a little heavier. Age is a wonderful thing. |
